I did. Might have cut it a little close in th U.K. on some lights. They’ve got speed cameras not red light cameras.

Thank you! I talked to Steve Lehto yesterday. It sounds like I should be able to get out of he ticket. I don’t really have a case for personal injury since I went to the doctor and they think I strained my neck and back but that it won’t be permanent. I could try to go for a mini tort case of up to $1000 as long as I get the ticket dismissed in court.

I’m sure in almost every scenario it was a case of “zero fucks given”.

People just don’t care anymore if their driving is reckless, dangerous, selfish, rude, or illegal. And until traffic enforcement starts to care, nothing is going to change.

In many cases, they’ll still send it to you via the rental company. In my experience (a couple times getting photographed going ~29mph in a town center where it’s always a 25 limit) the fine never showed up. Hooray.

That’s one thing that takes getting used to over there — they post the limits far less frequently than here in the US. You just have to know what the national limits are for motorways, town centers, etc.

I’m not sure why you take the time to make these, and I’m not entirely sure why I take the time to watch them, but thanks, I guess?

How many of these channels are there? I see Bad Drivers of Napa Valley, Clueless Drivers of Maryland and Bad Drivers of Tennessee scrolling down from this one.

It must be cathartic on your behalf, with the upside that someone in your town might watch one of these and know the person and publicly shame them. And for the viewer, it’s natural human nature to take some solace in “well, at least I’m not that asshole”.

I had the fintail out on Sunday and had to honk a few times - a loud horn is a wonderful thing. People jerk and jump.

There are a lot. I make them because it’s kind of amusing for me, though I can’t put my finger on why. They’re actually super quick and easy to make on iMovie so it’s not particularly time consuming. I guess you could say catharic, yes. As for hoping to get karma to bite one of these people, I actually don’t in 90% of these cases. Only the ones who do particularly reckless/aggressive/stupid things. For the most part, the things I post are just normal screw-ups I think people can learn from, or at least chuckle/eye roll at.

This is a good point - videos like these would be great teaching tools for new drivers.

Tell the truth: do you lay on the horn more often or longer than normal because you know it’s going to end up in one of these videos? =)
